Course revision begins for 2020 KCSE candidates

Prof George Magogha, The Education CS, yesterday announced that all tertiary institutions have already started the revision of all the course choices for placement by the Kenya University Colleges Central Placement Scheme(KUCCPS) to the artisan and craft, diploma and degree courses and it is expected to e completed in the end of July.

During the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), over seven hundred thousand (700,000) candidates sat for the national exam and yet to join various institutions. Students who acquired the minimum direct university grade, that is a C (plus) and above was one hundred and forty three thousand one hundred and forty. The students will join various universities in the country.

The rest of the student will be required to join Technical and Vocational Centres for various diploma, craft and certificate courses. The Government has given over one hundred and sixty thousand slots for government sponsored students who will only pay a reduced number of school fee. As at now, all the colleges, TVETS and Training Institutes will give form four leavers three hundred and thirty one thousand and forty five slots to occupy.

It is expected that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement (KUCCPS) will reopen it’s online systems for the new applicants to check and even change their the courses they have been selected to undertake.

Candidates will begin joining the various Polytechnics, colleges, Training Institutes and Vocational Centres from September, January and May next year.
