The Kenya medical training college has released the requirements that one must meet in order to enroll in KMTC to pursue a course.
Those willing to persue a certificate course must have at least a C- on their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations in cluster courses (KCSE).
Also those willing to enroll for the diploma programs must have received a minimum grade of C plain and above in cluster theme.
In addition, there are those who may require to upgrade kmtc courses and the basic requirement is a certificate in the relevant field.
N/B All candidates willing to enroll for Higher Diploma programs must have completed a Diploma course successfully in accordance with the requirements listed below:
Length and Requirements for higher diploma courses
One must have had a minimum of two years of professional experience and a basic diploma in the pertinent subjects.
The training program for this course lasts a full year.
Time necessary to complete a diploma course and its requirements
Basic entry requirements;
An applicant must have a mean KCSE grade of C (or equivalent) and an acceptable combination of other subjects, such as English, Kiswahili, biology, and other biological sciences, as well as mathematics, chemistry, physics, as well as the other physical sciences.
The minimum requirements for this training lasts three years.
This also though as opposed to the three and a half years required for community health nursing.
Time needed to complete upgrading and the requirements
For a candidate to enroll I this course, he/she must have at least two years of professional experience and a degree in the necessary fields
The specific training for this course lasts for two years.
This is though with the exception of Community Health Nursing, which lasts for 18 months.
One must have an aggregate grade of C-minus or higher along with the necessary combination of other subjects.
The study duration for this course lasts two years, with the exception of nursing, which requires two and a half years to finish.
